“My journey in life has been unique. In 2005 I was diagnosed with bacterial meningitis, and as a result of this illness, I have no sight in my left eye, and no hearing in my left ear, and I have very little sight in my right eye and moderate hearing in my right ear. I went
from being a varsity football player at Hightower High School to learning how to navigate life as an individual who is blind and hearing impaired. Since then, I have earned my college degree and began working with students who are blind or visually impaired with the hope of inspiring them that life can still be incredible beyond advantageous hearing and vision loss.”
